Gideon Okeke Calls Out Jim Iyke Over ‘Fake Persona,’ Sparks Nollywood Drama

    Published on

Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has stirred controversy after taking a direct swipe at fellow actor Jim Iyke on Instagram. In a fiery post shared via his Instagram story, Gideon accused Jim of lacking character, labeling him as a “phony” with a fake American accent and no acting credibility.

Gideon didn’t hold back, claiming Jim Iyke aspires to stand out like a goldfish but falls short due to his alleged lack of substance. “Small boy to me, small boy,” Gideon wrote, calling out the actor’s supposed fake persona. He went further to claim, “If only Jim Iyke could act, he would have been an actor. But sorry, he’s a phoney-ass kneegar.”

This comes on the heels of Gideon’s recent public praise for Nollywood star Zubby Michael, whom he crowned as the biggest star in the industry. In a comparison reminiscent of a Biblical reference, Gideon likened himself to Elizabeth who recognized Mary’s destiny, stating that he saw greatness in Zubby and encouraged him to keep striving.

Gideon’s outspoken nature has been on full display in recent months. He has previously criticized content creators, especially women, for exposing their bodies online while hiding their partners. The actor lamented the state of social media, accusing it of fostering indecency and affecting the moral compass of men. Despite this, he commended certain men for maintaining discipline amid the negative influence of social media.

The ongoing feud with Jim Iyke has ignited mixed reactions among fans and industry insiders. While some view Gideon’s remarks as a bold callout, others have criticized the actor for what they consider unnecessary public drama.

As Nollywood watchers await Jim Iyke’s response, the unfolding drama highlights the tensions and rivalries that occasionally surface in the Nigerian film industry, reminding fans that even behind the glamour, controversies are never far away.
