A Magistrate Court sitting in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of a 29-year-old woman, Idris Mariam, for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy (name withheld) in the Muslim High School area of Ago-Iwoye.
According to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mariam had unlawful sexual intercourse with the teenager on eight different occasions since December 23, 2024, in her room.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the NSCDC Ogun State command’s spokesman, Dyke Ogbonnaya, and made available to *DAILY POST* on Tuesday.
Ogbonnaya revealed that the incident was reported to the command by the boy’s mother, which led to an investigation.
“The survivor, during the investigation, revealed that the defendant had engaged in sexual activities with him since December 23, 2024, for eight consecutive times,” the statement read.
Following the investigation, the NSCDC legal team filed a motion for an ex parte order to remand the suspect at the Nigeria Correctional Centre in Ijebu-Ode for 60 days.
Ogbonnaya added that the request was granted by the court, presided over by His Worship O.F. Adeduntan (Mrs).
He further stated that a duplicate case file has been forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) at the Ogun State Ministry of Justice, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, for legal advice.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commandant of the NSCDC, Remilekun Ekundayo, has warned against all forms of inhumane treatment and indecent behavior, stressing that such acts will not be tolerated in the state.
