Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s hard-fought 1-1 draw against Enyimba in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 26 clash in Aba on Wednesday.
The Oluyole Warriors put up a spirited performance against the reigning champions, securing a crucial point that keeps them in second place on the league table, nine points behind leaders Remo Stars. The result, however, extends Shooting Stars’ winless streak against Enyimba to seven matches.
Ogunbote described the draw as “priceless,” acknowledging the intensity of the encounter and Enyimba’s strong display.
“Enyimba may take it lightly against other teams, but when it comes to playing us (3SC), you always see their best,” Ogunbote said after the match.
“I think it was a good game. Both teams gave a great account of themselves and showcased the quality of the NPFL.
“But right now, we cannot determine the exact significance of this point in the NPFL title race.
“What I can say at this moment is that it is a priceless point. Without it, only God knows where we would have been on the log.”
Shooting Stars will now shift focus to their upcoming fixtures as they continue their push for a strong finish in the NPFL season.
