The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company PLC (NAHCO aviance) has appointed Olumuyiwa Olumekun as its new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. This follows the retirement of Indranil Gupta, who concluded his tenure as CEO on December 31, 2024, marking a period of growth under his leadership.
In a statement to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), the company confirmed the board’s approval of Olumekun’s appointment. Olumekun brings over three decades of leadership experience, poised to guide NAHCO into its next phase of expansion. Having previously held significant roles such as Group Executive Director of Corporate Services, Olumekun was instrumental in executing the company’s 2019–2023 strategic plan, which resulted in a 300% increase in profitability.
His experience in business development, commercial strategy, and operational management has been pivotal in NAHCO’s success. Olumekun’s earlier leadership as Acting Managing Director and Executive Director of Corporate Services also contributed significantly to the company’s growth. Even after retiring from his active role at NAHCO in 2022, he remained involved as a non-executive director, supporting the growth of NAHCO’s subsidiaries.
Olumekun’s appointment signals a commitment to continue driving NAHCO’s long-term strategic direction and operational excellence.
