Nigerian disc jockey, Nonso Temisan Ajufo, popularly known as DJ Big N, has opened up about his harrowing experience of narrowly escaping death after a violent robbery attack in Johannesburg, South Africa. The incident occurred on January 12th, when DJ Big N and an acquaintance were ambushed by a gang of six armed men as they made their way to a nightclub.
In a heart-wrenching recount shared on Instagram, DJ Big N revealed that the robbers, wielding automatic rifles, attacked them at a traffic light. During the chaos, DJ Big N tried to flee but was shot in the leg. Despite the severe injury, the robbers managed to steal his jewelry and other valuables worth $114,000. One of the robbers even pressed the rifle to his head and demanded his watch, which he struggled to remove due to the intense pain.
“I tried to escape but I got shot in the leg,” DJ Big N wrote. “One of the robbers put the rifle to my head and demanded my watch, which I struggled to remove, along with my chain and other jewelry. Bleeding heavily, I managed to get back to the car, and the driver rushed me to the nearest hospital. The bullet had passed through my leg, narrowly missing a major artery and bone. Doctors described this as miraculous, calling me ‘lucky.’”
The DJ credits his survival to divine intervention and his mother’s prayers. Doctors were astonished at his survival, given the severity of the wound.
