Buhari Returns to Kaduna Residence After Nearly Two Years in Daura

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his residence in Kaduna State after spending nearly two years in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. Since vacating Aso Rock in May 2023, Buhari has maintained a quiet life in Daura, staying out of active political discussions and focusing on private engagements.

The return to Kaduna was confirmed by Buhari’s former aide, Bashir Ahmad, through a post on his official Facebook page. Buhari was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and several high-profile dignitaries, including Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and Kaduna Governor Uba Sani. Also present were current and former Deputy Governors of Katsina State, a former Inspector General of Police, former ministers, and several of Buhari’s personal aides.

During his time in Daura, Buhari also revealed that he rented out one of his two houses in Kaduna State, further retreating from public life.

Buhari’s return to Kaduna marks the end of his extended stay in Daura, as he continues to stay away from public politics.
