Abdulraheem Adisa, a former Commissioner in Kwara State and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has passed away. He died in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 91, according to sources in Ilorin, the state capital.
Adisa was a loyal member of the Saraki political dynasty and held numerous influential positions throughout his career. He served as the Editor of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), General Manager of The Herald Newspapers, Commissioner for Information in Kwara State, and Chairman of Moro Local Government Area.
Burial arrangements are currently underway, with the ceremony scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. at the Muslim public cemetery in Ilorin.
The news of Adisa’s death marks the end of an era for many in Kwara State, as he was known for his dedication to public service and his significant contributions to the state’s media and political landscape.
