Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has revealed that the state will host three major summits in 2025, as part of his administration’s ARISE Agenda. The summits will focus on Power, Tourism, and Corporate Business, aimed at bringing together Akwa Ibom indigenes excelling in the corporate world, both within and outside Nigeria.
Governor Eno made this announcement during the Special Inter-Denominational New Year Thanksgiving/Covenant Service held at the International Worship Centre in Uyo on January 2. The summits will serve as platforms to foster partnerships and accelerate the growth and development of Akwa Ibom.
The Power Summit will focus on practical solutions to achieve uninterrupted power supply in the state. The Tourism Summit will develop a master plan to position Akwa Ibom as a leading tourism destination in Nigeria. Meanwhile, the Corporate Business Summit will celebrate and collaborate with successful Akwa Ibom professionals, while providing mentorship opportunities for the state’s youth.
Eno emphasized his administration’s commitment to driving progress through strategic collaborations, as well as the ARISE Agenda’s role in enhancing the state’s economic and social development.
In addition to the summits, Governor Eno announced plans to begin town hall meetings at the Federal Constituency level in February, with a focus on community engagement and the empowerment of Small and Medium-Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs). Each constituency will see two SMEs (one from each Local Government Area) receive ₦5 million each, as part of the state’s commitment to supporting local businesses.
The governor assured Akwa Ibom residents that the ambitious initiatives for the year would be accomplished with God’s grace, and he rededicated the state to God for prosperity in the New Year.
