President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on January 6 for Accra, Ghana, to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama on January 7. Tinubu’s visit is at the invitation of Mahama, who had previously visited the Nigerian leader in December.
Mahama, Ghana’s former president, was re-elected in December 2024 and will succeed President Nana Akuffo-Addo. Tinubu, Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will be joined by other African leaders and senior Nigerian officials, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
