The opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party, have condemned the proposed N55bn allocation in the 2025 budget for the maintenance of the presidential fleet. The funds will cover the overhaul of three aircraft engines, fueling, fumigation, air navigation, cleaning, and other services.
If approved, the total aviation budget for 2025 stands at N105.95bn, with N71.12bn allocated to the Ministry of Aviation. Despite ongoing concerns over Nigeria’s economic challenges, opposition figures argue that the government’s priorities should focus on addressing citizens’ basic needs rather than maintaining luxury fleets.
