Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has announced his support for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the 2026 gubernatorial race.
Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his endorsement on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Ikeja GRA Network of Roads in Lagos. He praised the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Lagos for elevating the state’s capital, likening it to the upscale Ikoyi area.
Despite being a PDP member, Fayose said, “I will support Oyebanji for re-election in 2026. It’s not about politics, but about who Oyebanji is.” He further acknowledged Oyebanji’s leadership, stating that he had surpassed expectations, including his own, and brought people together.
Fayose emphasized that while he would never join the APC, he would always support what is good, noting that Oyebanji’s leadership style has proven critics wrong.
