Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star, Tolanibaj, is celebrating six years of living in Nigeria and sharing her gratitude for the decision that has shaped her life in countless ways. Taking to Twitter, the reality TV star expressed that relocating to Nigeria was one of the best decisions she’s ever made, reflecting on how life has unfolded in the years since making the move.
In her tweet, Tolanibaj acknowledged the uncertainty she initially felt about moving to Nigeria, a decision that at the time didn’t seem entirely logical but felt instinctively right. Looking back, she expressed immense gratitude for the timing of her move and for trusting herself to take that leap. Now, six years later, she is more than happy with her decision.
“Honestly, one of the best choices I ever made in life was relocating to Nigeria. I’m grateful to God for the timing of my move. The thought of moving didn’t make complete sense to me at the time, but it just felt right & I took the risk. It’s been six interesting years and I couldn’t be happier,” Tolanibaj shared.
Tolanibaj’s reflection quickly resonated with many of her fans and followers, who shared their own experiences of living in Nigeria and their views on relocating to the country. Many expressed that life in Nigeria can indeed be fulfilling, especially when financial stability is achieved.
Sandra Iheuwa, a notable personality, replied, “Same here. One of the best decisions of my life. If I say more, they will think I don’t want them to come to America, so experience is the best teacher,” suggesting that living in Nigeria could be more rewarding than many might think.
Others, like Lilis_world, pointed out that financial security plays a huge role in enjoying life in Nigeria, saying, “If you have money, you will enjoy this country.” Taatibig also echoed this sentiment, saying, “If not for governance we have, Nigeria is one of the best places to live.”
Many also emphasized that if one is doing well in Nigeria, there are few reasons to leave. Juz_blesyn, for instance, remarked, “Nigeria go just dey sweet if you get money sha,” while Domingo_loso said, “If you dey do well for 9ja honestly, you won’t see any reason for relocating.”
There was also a slightly skeptical voice in the mix. Leon402025 pointed out that Tolanibaj’s rise to fame was aided by Big Brother Naija, commenting, “BBN gave you a platform to land, if not,” alluding to the fact that the reality show helped boost her career.

Tolanibaj’s love for Nigeria isn’t a recent sentiment. In 2021, she boldly stated her preference for Nigeria over America, even though the latter may offer opportunities and comfort in some respects. She admitted that her experience in the United States was challenging, where she had to face many hurdles to reach her goals. In contrast, Nigeria, despite its own unique challenges, provided her with a fulfilling lifestyle, from the pampering she received to the overall sense of contentment she felt. This preference is something she has openly shared in interviews and on social media.
In a podcast interview with media personality Moet, Tolanibaj also discussed her desire for a partner who shares her love for travel, which has become an integral part of her life. She expressed that she would prefer a partner who has a passport, as it would allow them both to explore different destinations. This aspect of her life complements her broader interest in experiencing new cultures and places, further emphasizing the depth of her connection to global exploration and adventure.
Tolanibaj’s reflections on her six years in Nigeria serve as a reminder that life in any country comes with both challenges and opportunities. Nigeria, with its mix of unique culture, fast-paced lifestyle, and rich traditions, has been a place of growth for Tolanibaj. For many who relocate there, the country presents an opportunity to build a life that is fulfilling in ways that are not always obvious at first.
Her story highlights the fact that relocation is a deeply personal decision—one driven by instincts, circumstances, and the pursuit of happiness. While the challenges of living in Nigeria, from infrastructure issues to governance, are often mentioned, the possibility of success, fulfillment, and joy is also very much present.
This public reflection on relocating has sparked a deeper conversation about the realities of life in Nigeria and how, for some, it can feel like the right place to be. Others, however, might find the decision harder to embrace due to the country’s political and economic hurdles. Nonetheless, Tolanibaj’s experience is a testimony to the idea that sometimes, taking a risk can lead to some of life’s most rewarding experiences.
