Lifeless Body Found Under Okefia Flyover in Osogbo, Osun State

A lifeless male body was discovered on Friday under the Okefia Bridge in Osogbo, Osun State. The circumstances surrounding the discovery remain unclear, although eyewitnesses noted the man was found partially unclad.

A local trader, Chibuzor, reported noticing the body around midday, prompting residents to alert security personnel. Officers from the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) responded swiftly and were later joined by officials from the Osogbo West Local Government, who assisted in evacuating the body.

A bag containing clothes was found near the corpse. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities examining the surrounding area for clues to determine the cause of death.

NSCDC spokesperson Adeleke Kehinde confirmed the case was under investigation, and arrangements were made to evacuate the body to prevent further decomposition.

In light of the discovery, Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, Executive Director of the World Institute of Peace (WIP), urged the Osun State Police Command and government to enhance security at flyovers to prevent criminal activities. He warned that unsecured bridges could become crime hotspots if not properly monitored.
