The Osun State Police have arrested Wale Ogunsanmi in connection with the murder of Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, a 52-year-old cleric based in Osogbo.

Ogunsanmi, 35, allegedly stabbed Olaribigbe to death on January 1, 2025, after finding the bishop with his estranged wife.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, the incident occurred at about 11:25 p.m. when Ogunsanmi broke into his wife’s home and attacked the bishop with a knife. Police from the Rugby Division arrested Ogunsanmi at the scene and recovered the weapon.

The bishop’s body has been sent to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are committed to ensuring justice is served.
