The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed strong confidence in Senator Ned Nwoko’s chances for victory in the upcoming 2027 Delta North senatorial election. The party believes that Nwoko’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not hinder his political future but will instead enhance his standing within the ruling party, strengthening his bid for the senatorial seat. According to a statement released by Michael Igar, a media consultant to Nwoko, and signed by the Executive Director of Legacy Dream, the APC has dismissed claims that Nwoko’s departure from the PDP would mark the end of his political career. They emphasized that his move to the APC only solidifies his position and prepares him for a stronger electoral challenge.
Chief Ikechukwu Chukwudi, an influential APC chieftain in Delta North, reaffirmed that the party has already decided to back Nwoko as its preferred candidate for the 2027 race. Chukwudi dismissed any lingering doubts about Nwoko’s future in the APC, declaring that Delta North APC leaders have already made up their minds. “Delta North APC is not looking for a senatorial candidate. It is widely understood that Nwoko is the party’s choice,” Chukwudi stated, further clarifying that any assumptions or speculations surrounding Nwoko’s political future were unfounded and a mere “figment of imagination.”

He boldly declared that no other candidate in the PDP would be able to compete with Nwoko’s political experience and support base, urging the opposition party to consider the futility of fielding a rival candidate. “Think of anyone the PDP could present for the Delta North senatorial race in 2027, and you will see that they are no match for Senator Ned Nwoko,” he confidently stated.
