Nasarawa Assembly Approves N402.5 Billion 2025 Budget, Focused on Economic Growth and Development

In a significant move for the development of Nasarawa State, the state’s House of Assembly has officially passed the N402.5 billion 2025 Appropriation Bill. This decision, made on Friday, marks an important step towards advancing the state’s economic and infrastructural plans. The original proposal, presented by Governor Abdullahi Sule on November 29, stood at N382.5 billion, but the House saw the need to increase the budget by an additional N20 billion in response to the current economic challenges and inflation.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Danladi Jatau, explained that the revised budget aims to address the growing economic realities faced by the country. According to Jatau, the increase was necessary to ensure the government’s ability to fund essential projects and meet its objectives for the year. He added that the N402.5 billion budget comprises N166.4 billion for recurrent expenditure, while a substantial N236.2 billion will be allocated to capital expenditure.

The passing of this budget comes with the promise that, if assented to by the governor, it will enable the government to carry out projects focused on the well-being of the people and the sustainable growth of the state. With a clear focus on economic growth and stability, the budget is set to drive much-needed development in Nasarawa, and stakeholders are now eagerly awaiting its full implementation in the coming year.
