A Nigerian and nine other young African leaders have won the 12th edition of the Future Africa Leaders Award (FALA), organized by the Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF), an initiative of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Nine winners received $10,000 each, while the star prize winner took home $35,000.
Since its launch in 2013, FALA has awarded young African leaders who have contributed significantly to their communities. These efforts include innovation, education, advocacy, and solving societal problems. The prize has awarded $1.5 million to winners over the years.
The 2024 FALA winners are:

Mawada Abdalla (23, Libya) – Tech Advocate

Anneck-jiet Joan Kapomba (23, Malawi) – Visionary
Akram Sebai (21, Morocco) – Business Student
Jéssica Leonor Balde (25, Guinea-Bissau) – Medical Doctor
Collins Mwangi Karungo (23, Kenya) – Leader
Fady Atef Yousry (21, Egypt) – Humanitarian
Pastor Tuoyo Temisan of the Central Executive Council, Believers Loveworld, noted that FALF continues to build young African leaders. He emphasized that the program is open to all African youth.
Since its inception, FALF has recognized 123 recipients from 30 African countries, awarding over $1.3 million. These leaders have contributed in areas such as health, agriculture, technology, youth empowerment, and good governance.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome believes in the potential of Africa’s youth to build the continent and has been a strong advocate for mentoring and empowering young leaders.
Dr. Olajumoke Ola-Akinsanya, Senior Executive Officer of FALA, highlighted that the award has transformed the winners and provided them with global recognition and opportunities.
Pastor Arinze Emmanuel, COO of Loveworld Inc, emphasized the impact of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) in helping individuals and communities lead purposeful lives.
Julienne Ariori, the star prize winner, shared her motivation to create a sustainable future for Africa and pledged to continue impacting her community.
