North Korea has fiercely criticized the United States over reports of President Donald Trump’s alleged plans to redevelop Gaza by forcibly relocating its residents. The state-controlled Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Wednesday condemned what it described as an imperialist move by Washington, accusing the U.S. of attempting to expand its hegemonic influence in the region under the guise of humanitarian intervention.
According to KCNA, Trump’s comments about a potential U.S. takeover of Gaza are indicative of America’s broader ambition for world domination. The Pyongyang-based media outlet linked the statement to previous controversial remarks made by Trump regarding his interest in incorporating Canada as the 51st U.S. state and taking over Greenland.
“The world is now seething with the U.S. ‘bomb declaration,’” the KCNA report stated, arguing that Washington’s rhetoric demonstrates a blatant disregard for national sovereignty. The report urged the U.S. to abandon what it termed an “anachronistic daydream” and cease interfering in the internal affairs of other nations.
The criticism from North Korea comes amid mounting global opposition to any forced displacement of Gaza’s population. The United Nations has reiterated that such a move would amount to ethnic cleansing, a violation of international human rights laws.
Despite these warnings, Trump has continued to defend his stance, asserting that his administration is exploring long-term solutions for Gaza’s reconstruction. However, international analysts and human rights advocates have condemned any attempts to forcibly relocate civilians as both unethical and destabilizing.
The controversy surrounding Trump’s remarks has further strained U.S. relations with Middle Eastern nations, many of which view any potential American involvement in Gaza’s governance as an unacceptable intrusion. North Korea’s condemnation aligns with its long-standing opposition to U.S. foreign policy, particularly regarding American interventions in sovereign nations.
The escalating rhetoric highlights growing international tensions, with many world leaders calling for diplomatic solutions rather than forced displacement. The situation remains fluid, with global observers watching closely as Washington’s next steps unfold in the already volatile Middle East.
