Kano Pillars have praised veteran striker Ahmed Musa for his outstanding performance in their 1-0 victory over Akwa United on matchday 26 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Musa, who was named Man of the Match, impressed with his skill, vision, and leadership throughout the encounter.
In a statement on their official X account, Kano Pillars highlighted the forward’s influence on the game.
“Nigeria’s all-time leading FIFA World Cup goal scorer played beyond expectations, dictating the tempo with his skill, vision, and leadership,” the statement read.
“His overall impact was undeniable, earning him the Man of the Match award through a majority vote by members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State chapter, who covered the match.”
The club described Musa as a “nightmare” for Akwa United, noting his ability to trouble the opposition from the first whistle to the final minute.
Despite joining Kano Pillars weeks after the season began and missing six matches due to injury, Musa has scored six goals and contributed to over half of the club’s total goals this season.
His return continues to boost the Sai Masu Gida’s ambitions as they push for a strong finish in the NPFL.
