Jamaican dancehall star, Adidja Palmer, popularly known as Vybz Kartel, has revealed why he forgave his wife, Tanesha Johnson, despite allegations of infidelity during his 13-year imprisonment.
Speaking on episode 443 of the Drink Champs podcast, Kartel disclosed that he learned about the affair through his other baby mama while serving time in prison. The revelation, he admitted, left him in tears.
Despite the emotional pain, the dancehall icon said he chose to forgive Tanesha immediately, understanding the challenges she faced during his incarceration.
“But I still respect her because I understand [she is a] human being… I forgave her immediately because I understand, but I just had to move on,” Kartel explained.
He acknowledged her loyalty over the years, emphasizing that his lengthy prison sentence placed her in a difficult situation.
“She was there right through, but come on, I am in prison for fking 13 years; what do you expect her to do? Like, save the psy?” he added.
Tanesha Johnson has been a central figure in Kartel’s life and career, publicly supporting him throughout his legal battles and maintaining their domestic relationship despite his imprisonment.
Vybz Kartel was released from prison in August 2024 after serving time for his conviction on one of two murder charges.
