Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has admitted that Nasarawa United deserved their 1-0 victory during the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 26 clash on Wednesday.
The Sky Blue Stars were defeated at the Lafia City Stadium, where the home team delivered a determined performance to secure the win.
Speaking after the match, Ogunmodede acknowledged his team’s efforts but admitted that Nasarawa United wanted the victory more.
“We did our best in the game today, but the outcome wasn’t good enough for us,” Ogunmodede said.
“Nasarawa United needed the points more than us. They played very well today, and I am still surprised to see them where they are on the league table.
“They gave their best and got what they worked for. We didn’t create so many chances—I think they deserved the win.”
The defeat is a setback for Remo Stars as they continue their push for a higher position in the NPFL standings. Meanwhile, Nasarawa United’s victory boosts their fight to climb out of the relegation zone.
The Sky Blue Stars will aim to bounce back in their next fixture as the NPFL season progresses.
