The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has called on Nigerians, particularly Christians, to embrace the spirit of dedication and sacrifice as exemplified by Jesus Christ. In his Christmas message delivered in Ibadan, Oyo State, Adelabu urged citizens to reflect on the selfless sacrifice of Christ and apply it to their daily lives for the betterment of the nation.
Adelabu extended his warm wishes to Christians for a joyous celebration while emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort in nation-building. “Let us all reflect on the sacrifice that the Saviour of the World made by becoming a mere mortal to redeem us from our sins. We are encouraged by this monumental sacrifice to support the economic reforms initiated by President Tinubu,” he said.
The minister highlighted the strides being made under the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the power sector. He noted improvements in electricity supply to households and businesses across the country, attributing these gains to ongoing reforms and investments in renewable and alternative energy sources.
Adelabu reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to electricity as a fundamental human right for all Nigerians. He expressed optimism that the new year would bring further dedication to achieving stable power supply across the country. “The reforms, particularly in the power sector, have started yielding positive results, and these will be consolidated to make life more meaningful for all Nigerians,” he assured.
He also stressed the importance of protecting power infrastructure, urging citizens to take ownership of facilities in their communities and prevent vandalism. “By preventing acts of vandalism through vigilance, we are ensuring the protection of our grid from collapse and sustaining the incremental addition of power to the grid as promised,” Adelabu said.
The minister concluded with a call for renewed dedication to the collective goal of securing a better future for all Nigerians, expressing confidence in the success of the government’s economic and infrastructural reforms.
