Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has stated that Kevin De Bruyne’s expiring contract is not his concern.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Guardiola made it clear that the decision to extend the Belgian midfielder’s contract would be up to the club.
De Bruyne was rumored to be heading to Saudi Arabia last summer but opted to remain with Manchester City for the remaining months of his contract.
As his contract expires in June, there have been no negotiations for a new deal, and De Bruyne is free to discuss terms with other clubs starting this month.
It’s up to the club. It’s not my business, Guardiola commented. It’s about how he’s going to perform until the end of the season, the age that he has, and many things. I think the club has to think about it.
