The Bauchi State Police Command has disciplined 18 officers for professional misconduct, recovering N784,000 from extortion cases. The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, confirmed this action during a briefing on the Command’s 2024 performance.
The disciplinary actions included the dismissal of one police constable, rank reductions for four officers, warning letters for six personnel, and reprimands for four others. The recovered funds were returned to the victims.
CP Musa commended the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) for its role in handling public complaints, with ten complaints thoroughly investigated in 2024. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring accountability and building public trust.
