In a heartbreaking turn of events, the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has lost his eldest son, Abdulwahab, following a tragic motor accident on Thursday, December 26, 2024. The 24-year-old was involved in the fatal crash while returning from Kafin Hausa to Dutse, where the vehicle he was driving lost control and somersaulted.
This devastating news comes just a day after the governor mourned the passing of his mother, Maryam Namadi, who died on Wednesday after a brief illness. Abdulwahab’s accident occurred on the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road, and some of his friends, who were with him in the vehicle, are currently receiving medical treatment at the Dutse General Hospital.
A statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the tragic incident, with the burial rites currently underway in Kafin Hausa in accordance with Islamic traditions. Abdulwahab is survived by his parents, Governor Umar Namadi and his wife, along with his siblings.
