Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has expressed his excitement about returning to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after over a decade abroad. The 36-year-old forward was officially unveiled by Enyimba, Nigeria’s nine-time NPFL champions, on Monday, marking his return to top-flight football in Nigeria.
Ideye, who signed a contract for the remainder of the current season, brings a wealth of experience to the People’s Elephant. His last stint in the NPFL was during the 2006/07 season with the now-defunct Ocean Boys, and his return is seen as a major boost for the league and Enyimba FC.
Sharing his joy on social media after the unveiling ceremony, Ideye wrote, “No place like home. Thank you @EnyimbaFC for the opportunity. God bless,” reflecting his deep connection with Nigerian football.
This move has generated significant buzz, as Ideye’s wealth of international experience and his past performances with the Super Eagles make him a key player to watch in the second half of the NPFL season.
