Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic revealed the grim update during a press briefing in Cetinje, where the horrifying events unfolded late Wednesday afternoon. Initially reported as 10 fatalities, the death toll was revised after further investigations at multiple crime scenes.
The shooter, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, reportedly turned the gun on himself after the rampage, succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to police, the assailant targeted five separate locations, beginning at a local restaurant where four victims were killed.
Emergency response teams transported four critically injured victims to a hospital in the capital, Podgorica. Health Minister Vojislav Simun disclosed that the condition of three of the injured remains critical.
