Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims involved in Sunday’s tragic fire incident in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area. The fire was caused by a diesel tanker that suffered brake failure, fell at a traffic light junction, and exploded into a ball of fire.
The explosion resulted in the deaths of four individuals, while three others sustained various degrees of injury. Governor Oborevwori described the incident as horrifying and extended his heartfelt sympathy to the people of Ika South and the local government.
In his statement, Oborevwori prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and strength for the families of the deceased. He directed the State Ministry of Health, the State Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant authorities to provide immediate assistance to the victims.
The governor also commended the Fire Service, the local community, and security agencies for their quick response in extinguishing the fire and helping those affected.
