We are currently seeking a qualified LPG Plant Account Officer to manage the petty cash inflows and outflows at various Rainoil stations and depots across several locations. Key Responsibilities:

As an LPG Plant Account Officer, you will be a vital part of the finance team, ensuring that funds are available for operational needs while maintaining strict accountability and transparency. Your duties will directly impact the efficiency of the company’s operations at multiple locations.

Your Key Roles Will Include:

  1. Manage Petty Cash for Daily Operations:

    • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including disbursements, payments, and receipts, ensuring they are easily accessible for reconciliation.
  3. Expense Retirement and Reconciliation:
    • Process and track expense retirement ledgers to ensure the proper accountability of cash advances.
    • Reconcile received cash against recorded expenses, ensuring no discrepancies.
  4. Cash Request Management:
    • Create and maintain records of cash requests and disbursements for easy monitoring and management.
  5. Payment Processing and Receipt Issuance:
    • Ensure smooth and efficient processing of payments and issuing receipts for various transactions.
  6. Track Cash Balances:
    • Regularly check the cash balance to ensure the records match the actual amounts received and paid.
  7. Bank Cash Management:
    • Collect money from the bank for safekeeping before reimbursements, ensuring proper security and documentation.
  8. Documentation and Filing:
    • Maintain and file all documents relating to cash payments and collections for easy reference and future audits.
  9. Handle Inquiries:
    • Respond to queries regarding cash approvals, payment limits, and deadlines for expense retirement, ensuring transparency.
  10. Imprest Account Management:
  • Oversee and retire various imprest accounts, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  1. Prepare Financial Reports:
  • Prepare daily and weekly collections and payment summary reports for review by the station supervisor to ensure smooth financial operations.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a strong financial background and be meticulous in managing accounts and cash transactions.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background:
    • BSc/HND in Accounting, Banking/Finance, or Economics.
  2. Experience:
    • At least one (1) year of work experience in a similar role. Experience in financial management or petty cash handling will be an advantage.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) to manage and track transactions effectively.
    • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  4. Location Preference:
    • Candidates must be based in or willing to work at the specified locations, including Ore Town, Osogbo, Oghara, Ikom, Calabar, Awukuzu, and Auchi.
