Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved the employment of 424 new health workers to enhance healthcare services in the state. The announcement, made through a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, highlights the government’s commitment to improving the health sector.
The newly hired professionals include 205 nurses and midwives from the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery in Yobe, along with 219 health technicians specializing in various medical fields. This move is part of the Governor’s policy to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to the people of Yobe.
Governor Buni emphasized that the recruitment of these health workers is crucial for delivering better healthcare services, especially in rural and urban areas. “The newly employed health workers are to be deployed in various health facilities to provide efficient services to people across the state,” he stated.
He further urged the recruits to be dedicated and diligent in their roles, emphasizing that they should live up to the government’s investment in their training and recruitment.
“This decision reflects our commitment to placing healthcare delivery at the top of our administration’s priorities. We will continue to provide the necessary facilities, medical consumables, and qualified staff to enhance healthcare services in Yobe State,” Buni added.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to transforming the health sector, promising continued efforts to equip hospitals and support healthcare workers for better service delivery.
