The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Tuesday officially welcomed 112 newly recruited police officers who recently completed their training at the Police Training School in Niger State. These officers are part of the 10,000 recruits who successfully passed out on January 23, 2025, marking a significant step in the effort to enhance law enforcement in the nation’s capital.
A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the addition of these officers to the FCT Command. In a formal reception, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for deploying the newly trained constables to the Command. CP Disu highlighted the crucial role the new officers will play in strengthening public safety and security throughout Abuja.
In his address, CP Disu stressed the importance of professionalism, integrity, and discipline, urging the new recruits to uphold these values in the execution of their duties. He reminded them of their vital responsibility in protecting lives and property within the FCT and in adhering to international best practices in policing.
To ensure their continued readiness, the Commissioner announced that the new officers would take a two-week break before beginning a specialized retraining program. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to equip the recruits with the skills and knowledge needed to address the dynamic challenges of policing in an urban environment like Abuja.
