Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. Your duties will include:
- Accurate Financial Record-Keeping:
- Ensure all financial records are timely recorded in SAP ERP.
- Sort and keep appropriate source documents for easy retrieval and reference.
- Receivables and Payables Management:
- Manage the company’s receivables and payables efficiently.
- Process vendor payments, ensuring all required documentation is in place.
- Payroll Administration:
- Oversee employee payroll management to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Compliance and Statutory Filings:
- Ensure that VAT, PAYE, CIT, and other statutory payments are filed and paid before deadlines.
- Month-End Closings:
- Perform essential month-end activities such as:
- Bank reconciliations.
- Accruals and depreciation charges.

- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver financial statements and other periodic reports on time.
- Budget Preparation:
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager and Departmental Heads to prepare the company’s annual budget.
- Other Duties:
- Support the Finance Manager or the Director of Finance in any additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- An MBA is an added advantage.
- Professional Certification:
- Full or partial qualification with recognized professional bodies like:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
- Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
- Full or partial qualification with recognized professional bodies like:
- Work Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
- A proven track record of compliance with statutory regulations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
