Instagram is testing a feature that helps users catch up on missed content. The new feature shows unseen Story Highlights at the end of the Stories tray. This tray is where users usually view updates from friends.
Meta confirmed the test, saying, “We’re always working on new ways to help people connect in Stories and are testing bringing recent Highlights to the end of the tray with a small group of people.”
Social media expert Ahmed Ghanem first spotted the feature. Instagram aims to make sure users don’t miss important content from people they follow. With so many Reels, sponsored posts, and other distractions, it’s easy to overlook updates from friends and family.
The test feature will show unseen Story Highlights from the past week. You will only see them after viewing all the current Stories in your feed. If you don’t reach the end of the Stories tray, you may miss these Highlights.
Unlike regular Stories that disappear after 24 hours, this feature only shows curated Story Highlights that users have saved. Instagram is working to make sure users can find meaningful content from friends easily.
