Nigeria has lost one of its most prominent elder statesmen, Pa Edwin Clark, who passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the age of 97. His death was announced by the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State.
In a statement signed by Prof. C. C. Clark on behalf of the family and Penawei Clark for the children, the family expressed their profound gratitude for the prayers and support they have received during this difficult time. They also noted that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Edwin Clark was a towering figure in Nigerian politics, particularly known for his advocacy for the Niger Delta region. He served as the Federal Commissioner for Information during Nigeria’s military era and was a passionate champion of resource control, equity, and justice.
