The Kogi State House of Assembly has officially passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill, totaling N582,404,119,489, following a detailed review and adoption of the report by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning.
During the clause-by-clause consideration led by the Committee of Supply, Speaker Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf announced the allocation breakdown. The approved budget authorizes a recurrent expenditure of over N281.15 billion and a capital expenditure of over N301.28 billion. The budget outlines funding allocations to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies and will take effect from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
Expressing gratitude to his colleagues, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf commended the lawmakers for their diligence in deliberating and approving the budget, fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.
The passage of the bill follows its presentation by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on December 3, 2024, who proposed the N582.4 billion budget to the Assembly for approval. The budget aims to address key developmental priorities and improve governance in Kogi State as it prepares for the fiscal year 2025.
