Man Jailed for Intimidating FRSC Officers in Adamawa

A Chief Magistrate Court in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State, has sentenced Nuhu Isah to six months in prison or a N20,000 fine for intimidating officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and inciting passengers against them. The conviction followed an incident on Sunday, January 5, 2025, when Isah filmed an FRSC patrol team while they were performing their duties, while also provoking a mob to act against the officers.

The court, presided over by His Worship Mohammed Njidda, found Isah guilty of criminal intimidation. During the trial, it was revealed that Isah had recorded the FRSC officials while intimidating them and encouraging passengers to challenge their authority.

In response to the conviction, the FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, reiterated the agency’s commitment to road safety and condemned actions that threaten the safety of both officers and road users. He emphasized that such threats will not deter the FRSC from fulfilling its mission to ensure safer roads.
