The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested ex-convict Eniola Sodade for passport racketeering at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. Sodade, previously convicted for drug trafficking in June 2024, was caught again in December 2024 after operatives intercepted 52 passports being illegally shipped to Canada, Russia, and other countries. Four other members of the syndicate were also arrested.
In a separate operation at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex, Onne, Rivers, NDLEA officers recovered 316,800 bottles of codeine-based syrup from two containers. The seizure followed credible intelligence and was made in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service and other agencies.
Meanwhile, in Kano, operatives raided the Mafarki area of Dala Local Government and seized 149,090 pills of tramadol and exol-5 from a local dealer, Ismail Muhammad. NDLEA also arrested two individuals, Khadijat Abdulraheem and Ayomide Morakinyo, in Kwara for producing and selling drug-laced cupcakes to students.
