Kunle Ogunrombi, popularly known as K-Peace, the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 5 in 2015, has publicly accused the show’s organizers of failing to deliver the promised prizes. In a recent interview, he expressed his frustration over not receiving the ₦7.5 million cash prize, a brand-new car, and a two-week trip to Dubai, which were announced during the show.
K-Peace revealed that after his victory, he faced significant hardships, often attending interviews in Lagos without any money for food. He recounted that upon inquiring about the prizes, the organizers repeatedly postponed, stating that the car was still being branded. Despite the public announcement of his winnings, he claims to have received nothing, leaving him in a difficult situation post-competition.
This revelation has sparked discussions about the integrity of reality show commitments and the treatment of contestants after the cameras stop rolling. As of now, the organizers of Nigerian Idol have not publicly responded to these allegations.
