The leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Jigawa State and its 2023 gubernatorial candidate, Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, has criticized the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration, accusing it of neglecting the education and health sectors.
Speaking at a political gathering in Ringim, he condemned the ruling party for failing to address key social services. He described the situation in public schools as alarming, highlighting the shortage of qualified teachers.
“It is unacceptable to see only one teacher in an entire school. The government must employ more qualified teachers to bridge the gap and enhance education in the state,” Ringim said.
He emphasized the importance of education as the foundation for development and called on the government to strengthen the system for the benefit of future generations.
“Children are the leaders of tomorrow, from them, we expect future governors, presidents, ministers, and other leaders,” he added.
Ringim also urged the APC-led government to prioritize human development and job creation to address rising insecurity, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and theft.
In the healthcare sector, he called for increased manpower in hospitals and better capacity-building programs to improve service delivery.
He suggested that the APC-led government should consider adopting the NNPP’s manifesto to improve the welfare of the people of Jigawa State.
Amid speculation of a possible political alliance, Ringim dismissed the rumours, affirming that the NNPP remains an independent party and is not in talks with any political group.
He called on party members to stay united and work towards securing victory for the NNPP in the 2027 general elections.
