hanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has warmly welcomed President Bola Tinubu to Enugu State today. The apex Igbo socio-cultural group expressed optimism about the Federal Government’s growing relationship with the Igbo community.
In a statement signed by Chief Alex Ogbonnia, National Publicity Secretary, the group reiterated its call for justice and equity as key to national unity and development. Chief Ozichukwu Chukwu, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, praised federal initiatives benefiting the South East, such as the establishment of the South East Development Commission, and the appointments of key Igbo figures like Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla and Senator David Umahi.
Chukwu expressed hope that President Tinubu’s visit would strengthen ties with the Igbo people and called on the President to show goodwill by facilitating the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The group also commended Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his transformative projects, including the Enugu International Conference Centre, Smart Schools Initiative, and hospital upgrades. Additionally, they praised Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his leadership and his contribution to the installation of night landing equipment at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.
