Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, continued his New Year engagements with a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Lagos State on Thursday. Obi, who described Obasanjo as a father figure and a leader who oversaw significant national growth during his tenure, shared his visit on social media.
Obi expressed his gratitude for the guidance he receives from Obasanjo, acknowledging the former president’s continued contributions to Nigeria’s development. “I appreciate and enjoy his fatherly words of advice and kind guidance,” Obi said, wishing Obasanjo and his family health and happiness for the New Year.
This visit follows Obi’s meetings with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida in Minna, Niger State, and former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
