Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has applauded Chido Obi’s performance despite the team’s FA Cup exit following a 1-0 loss to Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The young forward came on as a substitute in the 68th minute, replacing Rasmus Hojlund, who had a lively but fruitless outing in front of goal.

Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day (MOTD), Rooney expressed admiration for Obi’s positioning and attacking instincts.
“What I’ve really liked about him is he’s put himself in some really good positions — I’ve been really impressed by him. He looked like the one who could go on and nick it,” Rooney said.

Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, also spoke positively about the teenager while maintaining a focus on the upcoming fixtures.
“Anything can happen in the next games. We need to see the opposition, feel the moment of the player physically. I will focus on just the next game. I will choose the best players to win the next match,” Amorim told reporters.
