A Russian drone attack on the central Ukrainian city of Dolynska has left a mother and her two children injured, as they were caught in the blast when the drone struck a high-rise building. The attack, which took place overnight, caused flames to erupt from the windows of the building, forcing residents to evacuate.
Andriy Raikovych, the governor of the Kirovohrad region, confirmed the incident in a post on Telegram, stating that the mother and one of the children were hospitalized for their injuries. He described the night as “difficult” for the Kirovohrad region, as emergency services responded to the attack, which left significant damage to the building.
As of now, Russia has not commented on the incident. Both Moscow and Kyiv have previously denied deliberately targeting civilians, despite the ongoing conflict that has led to thousands of civilian casualties, most of whom are Ukrainian.
The attack coincides with a significant moment in the war, as high-level officials from Russia and the United States are meeting in Saudi Arabia to discuss the potential for ending the war in Ukraine. However, Ukraine and its European allies are not participating in the discussions, further adding to the tension surrounding the conflict.
