Three Arrested in Droitwich Drug Bust After Car Stop Near M42

In a significant drug operation, three individuals were arrested in Droitwich after a vehicle was stopped near the M42 motorway. The arrest occurred at around 7:45 pm on Saturday, when officers from the Operational Policing Unit (OPU) successfully intercepted a silver Ford Fiesta on Rashwood Hill, Rashwood. This action came after intelligence work that tracked the vehicle off the M42, near junction 1 at Bromsgrove, raising concerns about its potential involvement in drug trafficking.

Following the vehicle stop, police conducted a thorough search, uncovering a large quantity of class A and B drugs, as well as a considerable sum of cash. Both the drugs and the money were seized by officers, and the three individuals in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. The arrested suspects include two men, aged 42 and 20, and a 40-year-old woman. They have since been taken into custody and are helping police with ongoing investigations.

OPU Inspector Stephanie Arrowsmith commented on the operation, highlighting the success of the vehicle stop in preventing harmful substances from reaching the community. “This successful vehicle stop has prevented a large amount of class A and B drugs from entering Droitwich, which is a positive outcome in protecting our communities from these dangerous substances,” she stated. Arrowsmith also emphasized the importance of the continued efforts to disrupt the illegal drug trade and assured the public that officers are working hard to gather more information through the suspects’ cooperation.

The arrest marks a significant moment in local policing efforts aimed at curbing the supply of illicit drugs in the area. Droitwich residents have expressed relief at the success of the operation, which comes as part of a broader strategy by local law enforcement to crack down on drug-related crime.

While the investigation continues, authorities have not yet disclosed the exact nature of the drugs or the full extent of the cash seized. However, the operation highlights the ongoing vigilance of local police forces in targeting and disrupting criminal activities in the region. The suspects will remain in custody while detectives continue their inquiries into the full scope of the operation.
