Borno State Police have successfully recovered three projectiles hidden inside a sack in the Dala Kafanti Area of Maiduguri, the state capital. The explosives were discovered after a resident, Asabe James, alerted the police about a suspicious sack behind her house.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, the explosives were retrieved after a swift response by the command’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. The devices were dropped by unknown persons early on January 2, 2025.
Police officials have urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious items or activities. They also provided safety tips for dealing with such situations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining composure, keeping a safe distance, and contacting local authorities.
The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, reassured the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring safety and security. He also encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities through emergency contacts provided by the police.
