Three Suspects Arrested in Imo State With Human Skull, Native Hen, and White Garments Amid Growing Concerns

In a chilling incident that has rocked the Ogii community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, three men have been arrested in connection with the possession of a human skull, a native hen, and white garments. The discovery was made on February 3, 2025, along the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway, following a tip-off from vigilant residents.

The Imo State Police Command confirmed that the suspects—Patrick Okoere (29), Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka (28), and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi (20)—were apprehended by law enforcement officers after they were found with the disturbing items, which are often linked to occult practices and criminal activities.

Imo State Police Spokesperson Henry Okoye detailed the investigation, emphasizing the growing role of the police in curbing criminal activities across the state. “As part of the Imo State Police Command’s continued efforts to combat crime, our operatives, in collaboration with the residents of Ogii community, apprehended the suspects. They were found in possession of a human skull, a native hen, and white garments,” Okoye said in a statement.

The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community, which has been grappling with the increase in criminal activities, including kidnappings, along the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway. The police are particularly concerned about the human skull, which has led to an intense investigation.

During questioning, one of the suspects, Patrick Okoere, revealed that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had instructed him to acquire a human skull. Okoere claimed that he had found the skull along a riverbank on the expressway, an area notorious for recent kidnapping cases. The police spokesperson also noted that the suspects were under investigation, with law enforcement working to uncover further details.

“The Imo State Police Command is actively pursuing Osunta Oko and other potential accomplices in connection with this deeply troubling incident,” Okoye continued. A DNA analysis is also being conducted to determine the identity of the skull’s owner, which could provide crucial insights into the nature of the crime and the possibility of other victims.

The arrest has raised alarm about the increasing involvement of occult practices in criminal activities in the region. The police are calling on residents to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activity, as they work to ensure the safety and security of the state.

In light of the grave situation, Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, reassured the public that justice would be served. “We are committed to ensuring that the law is upheld. The suspects will face prosecution upon the completion of the investigation. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents,” CP Danjuma asserted.

As investigations continue, the public will be kept updated on the progress of the case, as the Imo State Police Command strives to bring closure to the disturbing incident and uphold the rule of law.
