Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has urged former ministers Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi to apologize to Nigerians for their roles in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Lamido criticized the two politicians over their recent comments on the challenges facing the APC. He argued that both men were instrumental in bringing the party to power and should take responsibility for its failures.
“If El-Rufai believes the APC is failing, he should be the first to apologize to Nigerians because he played a role in bringing the party to power,” Lamido said.
He also accused El-Rufai and Amaechi of turning against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the platform giving them political relevance.
“The PDP made them politically relevant, yet they insulted the party that nurtured them. If they are now talking about opposition, they should first seek forgiveness from Nigerians for the problems they contributed to,” Lamido added.
Lamido’s remarks come amid growing tensions within the APC as prominent figures openly express dissatisfaction with the party’s direction under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
