Chelsea is set to complete the signing of highly-rated Kazakhstan forward Dastan Satpaev from FC Kairat Almaty. The 16-year-old talent will join the Premier League club on a five-year contract after an agreement was reached between Chelsea and the Kazakh club. The transfer deal, reportedly valued at €4 million, includes additional add-ons, marking a significant investment by Chelsea in the young forward’s future.
This transfer, as revealed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X account on Thursday night, represents a record-breaking move for the Kazakhstan league, with Satpaev poised to make the leap from Kairat Almaty to one of the Premier League’s most high-profile clubs.
Romano confirmed the details of the deal, writing: “Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign 2008 born talent Dastan Satpaev from Kazakhstan. Transfer fee worth €4m package add-ons included from Kairat Almaty. Record transfer for Kazakhstan league as Dastan will join Chelsea on a 5 year deal plus 1 year option when he turns 18.”
Satpaev has been a standout player in Kazakhstan’s youth ranks, scoring four goals in just 10 appearances for the Kazakhstan U17 team. His performances have drawn attention across Europe, and Chelsea’s decision to secure his signature highlights their commitment to bringing in top young talents to develop for the future.
However, despite the agreement being in place, Satpaev will not be able to move to Stamford Bridge immediately. Due to international regulations, the young forward must wait until he turns 18 before making the official transfer to Chelsea.
Chelsea’s acquisition of Satpaev underscores their ongoing strategy of investing in youth and securing emerging talents from across the globe. The club has continued to prioritize youth development and strengthening their squad for the long term, and Satpaev’s signing is expected to bolster their ranks as they look to build a more dynamic and future-focused team.
Once he reaches the age of 18, Satpaev will join Chelsea, and his development will be closely monitored by the club’s coaching staff. Given Chelsea’s recent focus on youth development, Satpaev could be a key figure in their plans for the future.
