United States President Donald Trump has disclosed that billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk plays a key role in his administration as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Trump revealed that Musk and his DOGE team are responsible for ensuring the swift and effective implementation of his executive orders.
Speaking in a joint interview with Fox News, the president emphasized the importance of enforcing policies without bureaucratic delays, stating that Musk has been instrumental in making sure his directives are carried out.
“You write an executive order and you think it’s done, you send it out, and it doesn’t get implemented. And some guy that maybe didn’t want to do it, all of a sudden, he’s signing it,” Trump explained.
During the interview, both Musk and Trump exchanged praise while downplaying concerns that the president might be overstepping his executive powers.
Musk echoed Trump’s sentiments, highlighting that one of the primary responsibilities of the DOGE team is to guarantee that presidential executive orders are properly executed.
“One of the biggest functions of the DOGE team is just making sure that the presidential executive orders are actually carried out,” Musk told Fox News.
Trump has signed numerous executive orders in recent weeks, many of which have faced legal challenges on constitutional grounds. However, with Musk overseeing government efficiency, the administration is pushing forward with its agenda despite opposition.
