She described the marriage as suffocating, saying Emmanuel’s excessive scrutiny of household matters makes her feel like a prisoner in her own home. She further claimed that he invites female friends from the neighborhood to sit and chat with him on their veranda late at night. Whenever she objects, he allegedly resorts to physical violence.
In his defense, Emmanuel presented a counter-accusation, stating that Margaret reacts aggressively whenever she sees him interacting with neighbors. He accused her of pouring buckets of urine and water on him, claiming that she uses this method to express her jealousy and frustration.
